Willeke Alberti (1945), stage name of Willy Albertina Verbrugge, is a Dutch actress and singer. She is the daughter of the famous Amsterdam singer of 'life songs' ('levensliederen') Willy Alberti (1926-1985). She sang several duets with her father (like 'No one wants to leave his child alone'), but mainly had a career of her own.
In 1963 she scored a big hit with her single 'Mirror image'/'Spiegelbeeld' (translation from a French song). In 1970 she played the leading role in the television series The little truth/De kleine waarheid and in 1975 she played the title character in the movie Red Sien/Rooie Sien. This last role brought her again a hit, the song 'Again and again'/'Telkens weer' (1975).
Willeke Alberti played in over ten films and released over 15 albums. She won an Edison Music Award for her first album (1965), the Golden Harp oeuvre award in 1981 and the Edison oeuvre award 2020.

In 2001 she founded a non-profit foundation (Willeke Alberti Foundation) to organize activities in homes for elderly and tours along the houses herself with old and well-known songs.
The above song 'Being close'/'Samen zijn' (1987) was used as the theme song of the children television series Pompy de Robodoll (1987-88). The show was about an orphan who became friends with a robot. The song has been voted into the Top 2000 (traditionally broadcasted on the radio the last week of the year) seven times.
Tom Manders jr. was a director and producer. He was the son of the famous comedian Tom Manders, also known as Dorus - who had a big hit with 'Two clothes moths'/'Twee motten' (1956). In 2007 Manders jr. made a television documentary about his father.
