Herman van Veen (1945) is a Dutch writer, artist, composer, songwriter and violinist. He made dozens of comic and clownish music theatre shows, also in Germany, France and around the world (he plays in 5 languages). He released over 180 cd's, over 20 dvd's, wrote over 70 books, wrote movie scripts (directed two himself) and two television series.
Some of his most well-known songs are: 'Susanne' (1969, translation); 'Long lasting love'/'Liefde van later' (1969); 'Out of my way'/'Opzij opzij opzij' (1979); 'Radio 3'/'Hilversum III' (1984); 'Anne' (1986); 'Today I am so happy'/'Ik ben vandaag zo vrolijk' (1986, for the series Alfred Kwak); and 'To see a friend cry'/'Een vriend zien huilen' (1987, translation).
Herman van Veen won eight Edison Music Awards and in 2010 an Edison Oeuvre Award and many more awards in Germany, France and in New York.

The above song 'Circles'/'Cirkels' (1969) is a translation of the English song 'The windmills of your mind' (1968), written by Alan and Marilyn Bergman and composed by Michel Legrand. The song won an Oscar for Best Original Song. It was also translated into French (as 'The mills of my heart'/'Les moulins de mon coeur').
Rob Chrispijn (1944) is a Dutch photographer and lyricist. He translated for example lyrics of Bob Dylan and Cohen's 'Suzanne'. Furthermore he wrote lyrics for artists like Frans Halsema, Lenny Kuhr, Joost Prinsen, Ramses Shaffy, Angela Groothuizen and Stef Bos. His collected lyrics were published in two books (1983 en 2004).
