Teddy Scholten (1926-2010) was a Dutch singer and radio host. She won the Eurovision Song Contest (1959) with above song, 'A little'.
Teddy Scholten met singer and songwriter Henk Scholten in 1944 and they married in 1974. She started to sing the songs he wrote. With his songs she became a part of the famous and very successful radio show The colourful Tuesday evening train/De bonte dinsdagavondtrein (1936-1957). Many well-known artist were part of this show, like Toon Hermans, Willy Alberti, Snip & Snap and Rudi Carrell.
For five years she performed in the Snip en Snap Revue on television (1955-1960). In the 1970's Teddy Scholten stopped singing and working as a tv-host and started to work for the Netherlands Red Cross Society.

In 1959 Teddy Scholten was asked to sing in the Eurovision Song Contest in Cannes (France). She won the contest with above song 'A little'/'Een beetje' (1959). In the song a girl asks whether her lover is faithful, and his answer is 'a little'. She released the song afterwards in French, German, Italian and Swedish. The lyrics were written by Willy van Hemert, who also wrote the winning song in 1957.
Willy van Hemert (1912-1993) was a film and theatre director, actor, comedian and lyricist. He adapted several books for tv, like the series: Bartje (1972), The small truth/De kleine waarheid (1970-1973) and Diary of a Sheepdog/Dagboek van een herdershond (1978-1980). Well-known songs he wrote are: 'Like those days', Corry Brokken (1957); 'Sun in Scheveningen', Rita Reys (1959); 'Ballad of the Southern Sea' (1959); and 'It's such a luck', Rudi Carrell (1960).
The Netherlands won the Eurovision Song Contest four times (in the 20th century), also with: 'Like those days', Corry Brokken (1957); 'The troubadour', Lenny Kuhr (1969); and 'Ding-a-dong', Teach-In (1975).
