Het Cocktail Trio (1951-1985) was a Dutch band that was popular in the 1950's, 1960's and 1970's. The three band members were: Tonny More (singer and guitar), Ad van de Gein (piano) and Carel Alberts (double bass). The band was founded by Ad van de Gein, who also wrote several songs for the band and for other artists.
Some well-known songs of the trio are: 'Flea circus'/'Vlooiencircus' (1965); 'Who has seen the key of the jukebox'/'Wie heeft de sleutel van de jukebox gezien' (1965); 'It's always carnival for me'/'Het is altijd carnaval voor mij' (1968); and 'Be kind to each other'/'Lief zijn voor elkaar' (1973, carnival song).

In the 1970's the trio played mainly party songs, sing-along songs and carnival songs. They also composed dozens of tunes for commercials, like 'Long live the man of the SRV'/'Leve de man van de SRV' (driving neighbourhood shop); and 'It has to be Inter-Furnishing'/'Het moet van Intermeubel zijn' (1965).
Honky-tonk is a kind of country music, also influenced by blues and R&B. It is mainly played in bars or during parties, often a piano is used that is slightly out of tune.
